What makes project fieldhouse special

The badminton community in Colorado has long been waiting for a designated badminton facility to call home. For years, we have been playing in recreation gyms with 7+ overlapping court lines, obnoxious paint colors that make the shuttle hard to see, slippery flooring, unfavorable lighting, and locations far from home. We are here to solve a lot of those problems. For this first time, we are behind the floor plans of the facility and we are shooting for the stars.

High Ceilings

DNVR Fieldhouse will tie for the highest ceilings in any current or prior Colorado badminton facility, alongside Carpenter Recreation Center in Thornton. To play the game at a high level, the lift shot cannot be restricted. The new facility will have ultra high ceilings for optimal clearance.

Flooring

The flooring at DNVR Fieldhouse will be made of polyvinyl chloride, better known as PVC. It is similar to the materials used at Pikes Peak Badminton Club in Colorado Springs, but has more grip and doesn't move around even at the microscopic level due to its locking mechanism.

Visibility

We have gone above and beyond to paint the gigantic walls around the courts dark gray to increase the visibility and contrast as you play on-court. Our members have complained about facilities that have the sun shining through them or simply just too many distractions like bright colors or moving objects. As you can see in the project photos, there are no windows adjacent to the courts and no elevated walkways to distract you mid point.

Location

We can't solve everyone's problems here but we tried. Fieldhouse will be 60 seconds off of I-25 in Aurora and will accommodate for the recent closure of Beck Recreation Center. It's aimed at serving the Denver metro area primarily but will house some of the best players in the entire state of Colorado. Several hotels, In-N-Out, Raising Cane's, L&L Hawaiian BBQ, K Pot Korean BBQ & Hotpot, and much more will be available in case you are in town for a badminton tournament or just need a place to stay.

Above and Beyond

In the facility you'll find that we really want the best for our members and visitors. Our section of the facility is at the side, so you're away from the major distractions. The junior olympic gymnastics team, J1 boxing & training, and various youth volleyball and basketball teams train in the same facility so you are constantly surrounded by top athletes and prospects when you're at DNVR Fieldhouse.

We hope you love your new home as much as we love giving back to the badminton community. Can't wait to see you in September!
